Here is a note a recieved from Ron on Cudjoe Key who was kind enough to communicate with me about my Sailbird Trimaran restoration project a while back. Thank goodness no one was hurt. But the end result with the new paint job is beautiful!

Hi Jon,
We were sailing the trimaran about 2 months ago in winds of 10 to 20kts when the mast came down, lucky we weren't hurt other than a few minor cuts. The stays did not break but the stay pulled out a chunk of the ama which I never expected in my wildest dreams; bad construction, chopper gun I believe. I repaired it and also repainted it with Awlgrip ; a very involved project with $200 worth of paint, reactors, & solvents.
