What's up everyone,
About a week
ago I got a random phone call from a good friend of mine, Captain Jack. He
asked if I would like to race a friend's sailboat to Mexico and of course I said
yes. The Regata Del Sol el Sol, it is a huge race that starts in St. Pete. So
next thing I know I'm on a boat in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico heading for
a tiny little island called Isla Mujeres just east of Cancun. They were even
tracking the whole race online so Christen knew where we were! We didn't win,
(24th out of 29) but I had tons of fun. When we got to Mexico I didn't really
know what to expect. It turns out that this Regatta is a big thing for this
Island and they go all out for us (the sailors). There was a big party in the
town square the first night. The next day all the elementary school kids got to
skip school and hop on our boats and go for a small cruise. Then there was a
basketball game between the sailors and the locals. The next night was the
awards ceromony, lots of food, an open bar, and plenty of sailors, you know I
there. Then it was time to come home. Coming home from an excursion is always
a funny thing. It's always the time where everything breaks. So on our way
home we lost the steering first, then the engine, then the radio. The three
most important things when boating. Oh well, thank god it's not my boat. So I
took lots of photos while I was there if you want to check them out type in this
link. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/knucky57/album ok, GOOD
TIMES!!!!! later yall
P.S. See that photo of the head? Yeah well
it didn't work. That galvinized bucket is where you had to take care of your
business. Stinky situation.
P.P.S. Hope all is well!
