Well, I have cleaned up the deck joints on my single seat sculliing trainer / kayak and made a lot of dust doing it. Then I sanded the hull sides and bottom. It is very tempting to slap some paint and go, but I know if i don't spend a little time fairing the hull and bottom I will be bummed later.
I also spent a few minutes cleaning up the greenland style paddle I made a year or so ago. I had roughed it out of a 2x6, used it once than left it on the side of my house. it has some splits, and a bit of a blade tip had rotted, but after a bit of sanding, it was cleaned up enough to be useable for a short day trip or too.
Anyone who has worked on a project knows how important the workshop environment is to a happy project. I spend so much time running around, that I have neglected my shop. I constantly drop stuff of in it, and have been bad about organizing it, as is evident from any of the shots I have taken showing the background of my garage. Well, I'm getting married at the end of this year and will need to be moving out of my place and I need my garage back first to finish the boating projects I have left and also to fix up the place. My shop is now looking great, and I wish i had done it earlier, it probably would have speed up my progress on this project!
