As a result of being overzealous with the ORS, I had to touch up the epoxy at the deck joint and on the stern. Once that was finished I gave the hull a light sanding with 120 grit by hand. Smoothing out all the sufaces was an easy relaxing job. It was hard to hold back as I was eager to start the finish work finally.
I have been bouncing finish ideas around in my head for a while, thinking I would keep a large section of the bow and stern deck bright finished. Indecision caused me to stand and stare at the hull for a while, it looks rather racy. An idea struck after a few minutes, why not add racing stripes, but rather than painted stripes they would be bright finished. The rest of the hull will be blue. Not traditional, but hey let's see how it looks!
I was able to get some straight lines taped in short order. I then put on three coats of spar varnish in the taped lines, along with the other bright finished parts. The wave break, and gunnels got the same treatment. Once that is dry, I will retape then prime and paint the hull.
