If anyone every wants to get me something as a gift, clamps would be awesome. I don't care if they are big or small I can always use more of them.
Chad and I have hit another slow down point. End of the school year for him is busy, and I am picking up more freelance networking classes. Soooo we haven't done a bunch. We have begun the curve over the bilge. It is such a pretty curve on this design. Both of us have been a bit intimidated, but like all other steps we were nervous about it hasn't been that bad.
![]() Because of clamps. We have about 6 clamps between us. They are all about 24" long. I actually wish we had started using them earlier in the build, we would have used MANY fewer staples on the simple curves of the sides. Now we find we need the rubberbands, then the clamps to pop things into place, then use staples so we can move the clamps and get more than one strip on at a time.
And yes, we are still using the belt sander to bevel, it is AWESOME!!
Next issue to contemplate: how do we handle the strips as we run out of bow and keel stem???
So tonight we plan to spend another Friday night, drinking beer, watching the glue dry and generally admiring the shape of these canoes.
